Our Story
Inside Out Toys is a small family business, created to keep us both busy up until retirement age. Both of us come from corporate backgrounds and the lure of working for ourselves was strong! The company was originally established in a small industrial unit just outside Derby and it moved to Milton Keynes in 2016 when we bought our family home in Silverstone, then later to a farm in Northamptonshire. Our company ethos is to focus on sustainable toys - "Toys don't need to cost the earth" - and as such, we only distribute brands with an eco-friendly element, alongside 'Jumini', our own brand of wooden toys made from sustainably sourced wood and designed in-house, here in the UK.
Between us, we have 6 children - 4 of whom are all grown up, and 2 still living at home - so we know only too well the sort of toys children love to play with and those that parents love to have in their homes! We have a small team at our premises just outside Towcester and have always prided ourselves in being a family-friendly employer -taking our responsibilities seriously in terms of offering flexible working and looking after our employees. We also recognise that we have a social responsibility as a business and try to support our chosen charities throughout the year, through donations to Northamptonshire Health Charity, Barnardo's and Giving World.
Julian Garner
Owner / Managing director
Julian, a Civil Engineer by trade, boasts a diverse career spanning Programme Manager for Seven Trent Water, Director of a family fireworks company, and founder of Inside Out Toys. A devoted family man, Julian relishes training his 3 Spaniels, fishing, and quality time withhis loved ones.

Nikki Garner
Director
Nikki, a true country girl with farming roots, effortlessly balances her role at IOT with managing a bustling household comprising two teenagers, three dogs, a horse, and her husband. With over 20 years at Hewlett Packard in marketing, finance, and project management, Nikki now enjoys dining out with family, visiting relatives, and riding her beloved horse, Nemo.

Richard Howard
Warehouse manager
Richard, married with energetic twin boys, finds joy in his passion for cars, and is currently renovating a VW Golf in his precious spare moments. With a knack for organization and impeccable timekeeping, he ensures the warehouse is always tidy and operations run smoothly.

Christopher Doyle
Creative director
Christopher is a trained product designer who from a very early age knew he wanted to be a toy designer. After a varied career designing anything and everything, from vending machines to wooden pastry sets he has finally settled at IOT where he gets to colour in, in peace (most of the time).
